MANOR RIVE GAUCHE GENEVA

Architectural design and interior design

This newly-built luxury villa on the left bank of Geneva was the subject of special attention and a great deal of work. Featuring many light openings, the clients’ main wish was to optimise the luminosity of this residence while at the same time creating architectural and stylistic consistency.

The main objective therefore was to combine classicism and modernity in a subtle and refined manner. Cécile Demole and her team chose to focus on restructuring the walls and ceilings with cornices and mouldings. The project emphasises these resolutely classical touches of noble materials, such as marble for the floor coverings, satin for fabrics and crystal for the lights.

The villa’s entrance features a very high ceiling, which has been emphasised thanks to the remarkable mouldings and a magnificent bespoke chandelier by Dôme Project Interiors. Characterised by an assembly of corals edged with glass pendants, this large light adds modernity to this otherwise classical entrance. This aestheticism is accentuated by the contrasting black bronze handrail (Société Art Kern) on light marble. Opposite the entrance, a made-to-measure bench sits inside a niche and sets the tone with its blue velvet upholstery.

In the living room, the graphic and modern aspect is portrayed in the central table in forged steel and oak wood as well as the black friezes on the marble. The bathroom furniture is in black marble, leather and Macassar ebony.
